2022-2023 Season Information

Escarpment and snow

Welcome back to Glen Eden! We are so excited about the 2022-2023 season and want to make sure you have all the information you need to have a safe, fun, and successful season on the slopes.

Glen Eden is resuming operations on January 8, 2023, 8:30AM – 9:30PM.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
We are looking forward to welcoming everyone back to the slopes of Glen Eden, however, as we continue to push forward with our snowmaking efforts now that the weather is cooperating, we will only be offering limited terrain in order to preserve the snow on the runs that are currently up and running.  This means that there will be limited capacity as we resume the season and will also help to ensure lift lines don’t get too long since only the Learning Centre Carpets and the Updraft Chairlift will be open at this time.  As of Sunday, both Learning Centres, Twister, and Night Hawk will be the only runs operating.

We know that many people will be very eager to get out on the hills so as a special perk to Passholders, you will have exclusive access to book their visit ahead of time  until 9AM on Saturday, January 7th, at which point we will open the booking system to members of the public. Please note if the time slot says “Sold Out,” this means that there are no spots available for that time and walk-ins will not be accepted.

We recognize that some passholders have struggled with booking a ticket the days we have been open this season. We appreciate this frustration and please know that as we continue to open more terrain and chairlifts, capacity will greatly increase and there will be more than enough time slots and lift tickets available for all. We are simply limiting the lift tickets to control over-crowding and give everyone who comes out a great experience on the slopes.

If you book a lift ticket and have a change in plans and do not plan on attending, we kindly ask that you cancel your ticket using the confirmation e-mail so that others can come and enjoy the slopes.

DO PASSHOLDERS HAVE TO BOOK THEIR VISIT ONLINE AHEAD OF TIME?
We recommend that all passholders and guests book their tickets online. By booking online, you ensure you are securing your ticket and parking when you want to be here. This also helps us manage on hill capacities so that lift lines move as quickly as possible.

Seasons Passholders do have the option to swipe their Seasons Pass card at a ticket window to make a reservation & check in – but we recommend using this option during less busy times of the week/season. We strongly recommend that you do not use this option for this weekend as we resume operations on Sunday. If a timeslot says “Sold Out” online, we will not be accepting walk-ins at that time.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR GLEN EDEN?
As you know, this quick turn around in the season could not have been possible without the hard work of our amazing Snow Operations Team. To open more terrain, they will continue their snowmaking efforts whenever possible, so you might notice some snow guns running as you’re skiing or snowboarding. We will continue to keep you updated with our progress and continue to increase hill capacity as we open more and more runs.

No, visitors will not be required to book their visit online ahead of time but we highly recommend that you do. It not only saves you money but it also ensures you have the best experience possible at Glen Eden. You can view our Lift Ticket rates here.

You will have the option to book their ticket online to guarantee a quick and easy experience. You will also have the option to come to Glen Eden anytime without booking in advance, but please remember that space is limited. On days where parking has reached capacity through online bookings, there will not be tickets available for pick-up through this approach.

Again, your options to picking up a pass are either of the following:

1 – Book online: Use the online booking system at  Gleneden.on.ca and reserve your timeslot. This guarantees you the timeslot you want on the days you want to ski. Availability is based on parking, so booking in advance helps to ensure that you will easily find a parking space and be able to enjoy your time on hill. Passholders can book their visit 10 days in advance, general public can book their ticket 5 days in advance.

2 – Walk-up: Come to Glen Eden and either swipe your season pass or purchase a lift ticket  with the ticket attendant, and hit the slopes. Please note that if the hill is at capacity when you arrive, you will have to wait until the next available time slot. This will be a great option for weekdays, evenings, or other times when the hills are not busy.

We recommend booking your visit ahead of time on those blue bird, perfect ski days when the hills are more likely to be busy to guarantee your spot.

We recommend that all guests book their tickets online. By booking online you ensure you are securing your ticket and parking when you want to be here. This also helps us manage on hill capacities so that lift lines move as quickly as possible.

Seasons Passholders do have the option to swipe their Seasons Pass card at a ticket window to make a reservation & check in – but we recommend using this option during less busy times of the week/season.

Ticket inventory for each day is based on parking, lift capacity, and lessons.  The inventory available online each day is set to ensure that lifts, slopes and parking lots do not fill beyond capacity.  If you are seeing a “Sold Out” status online it is because the parking lots are full, and/or the lift lines are at capacity for the amount of terrain open. We will not sell additional tickets at the gate on these days as we would be filling our parking lots and lift lines beyond capacity.

Yes. As long as there is still ticket inventory available you can buy at the ticket window.  Remember that you can save over 10% by buying online though!

Glen Eden Season Passholders will be able to book their visit 10 days in advance. The public will be able to book their visit 5 days in advance.

Through the last few seasons, our focus needed to be on strictly managing the number of people on the hill. This meant limiting daily lift ticket counts. With restrictions and guidelines now shifting, our capacity is now more reflective of parking and other critical limits. The daily hill capacity takes into account space we have in our parking lot, seating available in our chalets, and keeping lift lines a reasonable length. All of these factors help us deliver the best customer experience possible. Based on your feedback from last season, and with the easing of health restrictions by the Province of Ontario, we have greatly increased the capacity we are able to offer to the community. With this increased capacity, there will be plenty of spots for everyone and very seldom will you be unable to find the timeslot you would like to ski or snowboard.

When you see “Sold Out” or “Full” online, you can rest assured that those are days where parking lots will be full.

No, in accordance with provincial guidelines, Glen Eden will no longer require any proof of vaccination.

Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate make-up lessons for 7/8-week Lesson Programs or Camps. If you have booked a one-hour Private Lesson, you can cancel and rebook up to 4 hours prior to the scheduled start of the lesson using the link in your confirmation e-mail.
