Your Opportunity 

The primary responsibilities of this position include: 

  • Direct and control both vehicle and pedestrian traffic to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow in our parking lots  
  • Greet and provide general information to guests and assist with questions or concerns as needed 
  • Assist with general maintenance, snow removal, and cleanup duties, as well as set-up, takedown, and operations for special events and functions 
  • Support in stacking, splitting, and moving firewood

Your Qualifications  

  • Ability to confidently provide direction to members of the public and other CH staff (vehicle and pedestrian traffic) 
  • Previous experience in parking lot operations/traffic management is an asset.   
  • Working knowledge of ski resort operations an asset 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, positive attitude & the ability to work both as a team member and independently. 
  • Flexibility and the ability to assume a variety of tasks as required. 
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, on varied terrain. 
  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds, stand, and walk for long periods of time. 
  • A valid Ontario Drivers Licence, minimum Class “G2”, with a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract is required. *Abstract completed by Conservation Halton.

Your Opportunity 

The primary responsibilities of this position include: 

  • Support program delivery/monitoring of MHRC and Glen Eden Snow School Programs  
  • Collaborate with the cohort coaching team to develop and execute training plans with a strong focus on FUNdamentalsTM and Return to Sport Guidelines ensuring safe training and race environments for athletes  
  • Flexible and innovative in utilizing available terrain and park elements, taking advantage of offsite training opportunities  
  • Provide challenging on-snow skill development and training environment 
  • Support delivery of the dryland training program 
  • Take ownership of athlete development, providing mid-season and end of season evaluations  
  • Support on-snow training and race related tasks (i.e., lane preparation, course setting and maintenance, tear-down and lane clean-up), video analysis and timing system set-up/clean-up  
  • Ensure equipment is properly maintained and operational throughout the season   
  • Ensure athletes abide by the AOA & MHRC Codes of Conduct   
  • Responsible for record keeping and reporting on attendance, ability levels, and incidents as required  
  • Attend all required staff training sessions both on and off hill  
  • Adhere to all Safe Sport and Head Start policies/protocols, modelling positive behaviours to ensure a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment is maintained for all MHRC athletes at all times

    • DL Training/Certification an asset  
  • Previous general ski coaching experience at U8/10/12 for enrollment in CIT program for the 2024/2025 season  
  • Previous ski racing experience is an asset  
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of the ACA LTD plan  
  • Candidate must provide appropriate Alpine Ski Race equipment, suitable for coaching & demonstration including: Skis, Poles, Helmet & Black Pants *Uniform jacket will be provided (to be returned end of season) 
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, on varied terrain. 
  • Able to lift up to 25 pounds, stand, and walk for long periods of time 
  • Successful candidates will be required to complete Risk Management Education training provided by Conservation Halton 
  • Successful candidates will be required to provide a Vulnerable Sector Check (VSS), to verify the absence of a criminal record for which a pardon has not been granted (if over 18 years old). *Cost covered by Conservation Halton up to $30.00. 
  • A valid Ontario Drivers Licence is required for competitive stream coaches to travel to various race locations.

Your Opportunity 

The primary responsibilities of this position include: 

  • Assist in the operation of the transit program. This includes traffic control, shuttle operation, lot cleanup, and supervision of parking and transit staff. 
  • With direction from the Department Supervisor, lead Transit staff to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the parking lots and shuttles and ensure the smooth flow of traffic on our properties 
  • Support the with recruitment, onboarding, and training of seasonal staff  
  • Assist with general maintenance, snow removal, moving supplies/equipment, as well as set-up, takedown, and operations for seasonal operations, special events and functions as required  
  • Stack, split and move firewood as needed 
  • Collect and transport garbage and recyclable material in parking lots for disposal/processing  
  • Assist with processing deliveries, including unloading supplies received 
  • Advise Department Supervisor of any issues or concerns noted during shifts such as condition of equipment, infrastructure repairs, staff performance, etc. 
  • Greet guests, assisting with questions or concerns as needed, contributing to a positive visitor experience 
  • Ensure safe operation of small/heavy equipment such as snow blowers, handheld power tools, including completion of safety checks to minimize risk, injury, and property damage  
  • Complete and document required safety checks of assigned vehicle(s) and equipment. Reporting any equipment defects.  
  • Follow the CH preventative maintenance program, keeping equipment and vehicles clean for safety and to maintain professional appearance.  
  • Work in accordance with the Conservation Halton’s Safety Policies & Procedures and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and all other related manuals 
  • Other duties as assigned 

Your Qualifications  

  • Previous experience in parking lot operations is an asset; however training will be provided 
  • Working knowledge of ski resort operations an asset  
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to provide direction to the public and other CH staff (vehicle and pedestrian traffic)  
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience is an asset 
  • Ability to work in and adapt to the daily challenges associated with a fast-paced environment. With the flexibility to assume a variety of tasks as required 
  • Customer service mindset, with strong problem solving and decision-making skills in managing guest interactions and internal/external stakeholders 
  • Ability to handle difficult situations while remaining calm under pressure 
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, providing support to other departments as required  
  • Ability to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required  
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, on varied terrain. 
  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds, stand, and walk for long periods of time, bend, stretch, and work from ladders or step stools 
  • A valid Ontario Drivers Licence, minimum Class “G”, with a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract is required. *Abstract completed by Conservation Halton. 
  • Successful candidates must provide own CSA approved safety footwear prior to first day of employment *Partial reimbursement provided in accordance with the Safety Workwear policy. 
  • CH parks are not accessible by public transit; candidates should ensure they have reliable transportation.
