Snow School

Group ski lesson

Snow School Group Programs Overview

Glen Eden is a great place to get your start and we have something for everyone—whatever your skill level! CORE programs include beginner lessons for newer skiers and snowboarders, whether you are brand new to snow sports or developing your skills from beginner to intermediate. ACADEMY programs are perfect for experienced skiers and snowboarders looking to take their abilities to the next level, with lessons that focus on developing skills from intermediate to advanced. COMPETITIVE programs offer skiers the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of racing, or for more advanced racers, the opportunity to learn and train with a team.

Please remember, suggesting your student is a higher skill level than they actually are may cause unnecessary challenges for them when lessons start, we always recommend being conservative with your ability levels. Refer to our Abilities Charts before registering.

If a program is full or unavailable, join our Wish List for the 2025/2026 Season and we will notify you if more spaces are added.

All Snow School Programs require the purchase of a valid pass option PLUS the lesson program.

Snow School Camps

Snow School Camps run from December 20–23, 2025, December 27–30, 2025 as well as March 16–20, 2026 for different programs, ages, and abilities. This season, March Break Camps includes a bonus day of programming so you can spend more time on the hill practicing your skills!

Core Programs

The Core Lesson program at Glen Eden is best suited for new skiers and snowboarders and beginner students who can comfortably perform basic skills like stop, turn, and are ready to become more competent and confident in their abilities on the slopes. The Core Lesson programs are offered either on a weekly basis or as camps over the Winter or March breaks. Select from the following age groups for the appropriate group for you and/or your family.

Using our beginner hills, Kinder Lessons cover the basics, such as walking, sliding, stopping and turning, before moving on to the “big hills”. Our instructors take a patient approach to helping your little ones learn with a focus on becoming self-sufficient.

Learn to Race Camp is a great way for younger skiers to see if they are ready to make the move from Snow School lessons to a Competitive Program. Students will learn how to ski safely at faster speeds, use skills required to be successful in a race course environment, and get introduced to basic race course environments. Over the course of the camp, skiers will learn and practice racing techniques in a small group setting. Choose from two 4-day sessions: December 20–23, 2025 or December 27–30, 2025. Learn to Race Camp is presented in partnership with Milton Heights Racing Club.

The Junior Development Program is geared to intermediate skiers who have completed Snow School Level 5/6 and have an interest to explore the racing environment. Participants should be comfortable skiing on various types of terrain, steepness and speeds. Coaches work with young skiers in a variety of fun training environments to improve fundamental skiing technique and promote confidence, self-esteem and love of skiing. Skiers will be introduced to racing by preparing for and participating in two competitive skills events that combine both open slalom and obstacle elements in a fun environment. Racing Development is presented in partnership with Milton Heights Racing Club.

I can’t make it to my Snow School lesson. Can I get a make-up lesson?

Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate make-up lessons for 8-Week Lesson Programs or Camps. If you have booked a one-hour Private Single Lesson, you can cancel and rebook up to 24 hours prior to the scheduled start of the lesson.

Please review our terms and conditions here.

The Snow School Lesson I wanted was full and I joined the Wish List. What now?

Our Wish List is intended to assist our Snow School & Visitor Service teams with a clear understanding which programs are in high demand so that we can strive to staff up and add inventory where it will be most appreciated.  We know that we will not likely be able to satisfy every request on the Wish List, but our hope is to do what we can as we hire more staff.

Here’s how the 2025-2026 Wish List works:

  • You will be notified via e-mail if a large number of program spaces are able to be added to program(s) you’ve requested.
  • Everyone will be notified at the same time. The Wish List is not numbered or in a priority order.
  • Due to the extremely high demand, we recommend visiting the website and signing up immediately if you hear from us regarding additions to a program. We are not able to hold these spaces for specific individuals, so when space is added, it becomes available to anyone who visits the site.
  • On occasion you may notice a single space open in a program you are looking for. Those single program spaces may appear from time to time if a family needs to remove themselves from a program or shift to a different day and time. With the number of families looking for programs, we are unable to alert everyone each time a single space opens up.
  • Please keep in mind that being on the Wish List does not mean that you are signed up for the program, or guaranteed entry to the program. We will communicate as much as we are able and do our best to assist.

How long are CORE Ski and Snow School lessons?

Most of the CORE program lessons (Junior, Adult, Primary, Teen) are 1.5 hours in length. This allows for more mileage within lessons to further allow rider development at the stages in the learning where it’s most important and allows more time per student with their instructor in group lessons.

Kinder ski and snowboard programs are one hour long.

I’ve seen photographers out on the hill before, will I or my child be featured in any photos?

Conservation Halton and Milton Heights Racing Club will on occasion capture photos/videos of our guests, passholders, and lesson participants enjoying their time on snow. These photos/videos may be used in social media or for the purpose of promotion, marketing, and general communications. When individuals are captured in photo or video as the sole subject of a shot or are clearly identifiable we will provide advanced notice and ensure that there is an agreement to participate in such promotions.

Are helmets mandatory?

Helmets are mandatory for everyone participating in a lesson program. Helmets are highly recommended for all skiers/snowboarders. Helmets can be purchased at Glen Eden Rental Shop and Trailhead Store.

At Glen Eden, we’re proud to collaborate with select third-party snow schools to offer a diverse range of lesson options. However, for the best value and guaranteed top-notch service, we recommend booking lessons directly with Glen Eden’s Snow School.

Safety and Quality Assurance

Your safety is our top priority. To ensure all guests receive safe and high-quality instruction, we carefully vet our third-party snow school partners. This process includes:

  • Insurance Verification: Confirming adequate insurance coverage for all third-party operators.
  • Staff Manual Reviews: Reviewing instructor staff manuals to align with Glen Eden’s standards.
  • Instructor Certification: Ensuring all instructors are certified by either the Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors (CASI) or the Canadian Ski Instructors’ Alliance (CSIA).

Unauthorized Snow Schools

Please note that third-party snow schools operating at Glen Eden without a valid permit are strictly prohibited. Participation in lessons offered by unofficial or unpermitted snow schools poses risks to both instructors and students, including the revocation of ski or snowboard passes.

To avoid complications:

  • Ensure your third-party snow school checks in daily with Glen Eden staff.
  • If you’re taking a lesson with a third-party snow school and they have not checked in with official Glen Eden staff ahead of your lesson, you may be participating in an unofficial and unpermitted lesson.

Approved Snow Schools

Below is the list of official third-party snow schools permitted to operate at Glen Eden. These schools meet our rigorous safety and quality standards.
