(single racers must return thei r number plates after each event).\n - \;AND maybe most importantly\, we will track your results for the season end category awards (NEW for 201 2 - we WILL NOT be tracking results for single race entries). \n \n FREE K IDS RACES\n \n - We will once again offer a safe\, fun\, challenging and F REE kids course at the base of the hill so be sure to bring the little one s out for a taste of the action.\n - An ALL NEW short course for the kids that is completely separate from the long course to improve the safety and enjoyment for everyone was unveiled in 2011 and got a big thumbs up from the kids so we'\;ll stick with it. The loop is approximately 500m and t he kids go '\;round 4 times. It'\;s all on grass and involves a bit of climbing and a downhill where the speeds can get up a little. All are w elcome but even the kids should have at least some decent bike handling sk ills and good brakes (coaster brakes aren'\;t ideal).\n \n GENERAL INFO \n - The races run every Tuesday from 22 May to 21 August\, 2012 plus a k iller fun Finale Event on Tuesday 28 August &ndash\; includes awards\, pri zes\, BBQ\, and whacky mountain bike challenges for all ages.\n - Races st art at the bottom of the Twister Chairlift. \;\n - Races start at 6:45 pm. Experts go first\, Sports 2nd\, Beginner and Short Course 3rd.\n - Rac es usually finish at around 8pm.\n - The course changes regularly througho ut the season to keep things fresh.\n - Trail listing and map posted on th is web page.\n - The course is marked by square blue signs with a white bi ker.\n - On race night the course is partially taped off with yellow cauti on tape. A line of tape indicates a turn coming up\, and a corridor of tap e indicates you have made the turn.\n - First Aid Certified Marshals (Kels o&rsquo\;s and Hilton Fall&rsquo\;s volunteer Trail Ambassadors) on course at each race.\n - The distance of each course loop ranges from around 5.5 km to 7.5km (it gets longer as the season goes on and your lungs and legs get bigger).\n - Free kids course (Short Course) &ndash\; a 500m loop cycl ed four times skirting the bottom of the slopes.
